check out the schedule here

THE CLOCKMAKER
by
PAROMITA GOSWAMI

BLURB

Can you change destiny? What if you can?

Ashish, a passionate clockmaker is frustrated with his life - financial insecurity, his ongoing nightmares and his family, wife Lata and son Vicky, are driving him crazy.

Lata is having a tough time in life with her arch-rival, Rashmi. Vicky wants to be a biker than rather join the family legacy of the clockmaker. He also has a crush on Kavya who is more interested in supporting her family than romancing around.

Lately, Ashish starts hallucinating things. The black hooded man, who traumatizes him in the nightmares, warns him of dire consequences if he doesn’t return the timepiece that was given to Ashish by his father at his deathbed. Burdened with despair, Ashish wishes he could change his destiny and end all his miseries. By sheer chance, he discovers the power of the timepiece. Ashish was still figuring out what to do with it when an incident shatters his life completely. Without second thoughts he uses the power of the timepiece to change his destiny. But, can he really change it?

Amid the chaos of the busy by-lanes of the East Delhi unfolds a paranormal, supernatural, Indian drama that will leave you thrilled.

The Jungle Series – Get ready to be assaulted!

My Review:

We have had always been hearing time and tide waits for no man. And tempering with destiny is not only possible but if done, the consequences are equally disastrous.

The Clockmaker is a supernatural suspense story with paranormal touches. After reading the blurb I had thought it to be a simple supernatural story but the twist and turns and the lucidity in which Paromita has created the suspense and kept me hooked is really commendable.

The Clockmaker is a totally different genre from the author's previous works and I must say she had done a great job. From her 1st book to The Clockmaker, the author has really come a long way.

The Clockmaker is a story about Ashish whose family has been in this clock repairing business since generations. The timepiece which is the main protagonist of the story, how it comes into their family, what are its supernatural powers, to know all about it one must definitely read this book and get spooked.

The Clockmaker is definitely a must read no matter which genre one loves to read as it can be read and enjoyed by all.

Book Review-Ruchira Khanna's The Doppelganger

Print Length: 34 pages
On Kindle Unlimited
Publication Date: December 26, 2018
Sold by: Amazon Digital Services LLC
Language: English
ASIN: B07M65B8D8

Sandra lost her husband, Sam, and was lonely in this not-so-alone world until she met Sam’s look-alike, Fran, from another world. Will Fran be able to provide all the happiness Sandra has been yearning since Sam’s physical body left?

The Doppelgänger is a metaphysical short story that will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions as the astral and physical bodies clash.

My Review:

The Doppelganger is a short story with a unique combination of two genres: fantasy and paranormal. It is a little different genre but really worth a read.

Usually, life after losing a loved one is difficult especially, when the loved one leaves the world all of a sudden and at a very young age.

For Sandra, it was difficult to cope after losing her husband but when she, by chance meets Sam's doppelganger Fran everything changes.

I loved the unique theme of the story. It is a good, short read with a unique story plot which has never been explored before.

The Doppelganger is definitely a must read by everyone, if you wanna read something different yet interesting.

It would be great if you can add this book to your TBR

Book Review-Neil D'silva's Right Behind You

My honest review:

If you have read Neil D’silva’s previous works you definitely know what to expect from this one. Having read Pishacha and Bound in Love, I was expecting enough chills and was really eager to read Right Behind You as the book cover and blurb was intriguing enough.

Right Behind You is a collection of thirteen short stories (he had to choose the number 13…); stories which are a figment of author’s imagination, some which are based on rumors or stories of local folk.

But each story is written with the right amount of horror, which really sends chills down your spine. So a precautionary warning to readers with faint heart…don’t read this book at night.

The book cover is apt and intriguing, no errors except in the last story in which some parts are printed twice but given the good content, this one error can be ignored. An additional point is the blurb contest of the book which really makes the reader curious and read with utmost interest and attention.

So if you like to read horror stories Right Behind You is a must read. Make sure you sit down with enough munchies while reading it.

Review-Encounters by Sumana Khan

Encounters
Someone's Always Waiting
by
Sumana Khan

Blurb
ENCOUNTERS is a potpourri of five sumptuous stories involving a motley crew of protagonists. Skating along the borders of fantasy and paranormal themes, the stories track incredible and poignant journeys of self-discovery, tracing the cathartic aftermath of fleeting encounters.

My Review

Very rarely you come across an author, whose creations you are reading for 1st time and you think why I didn’t read her books before?

Sumana, I am falling short of words to praise your work, your talent in writing, the way you kept me hooked till I finished each story is totally mesmerizing.

I received Encounters through The Book Club for an honest review. And I would say I totally loved it. Like in her first story in the book First Love, I fell in love with the writer, the characters, the plot, the cover picture…

First love left me spell bound, The storyteller had me awed, Reminiscence left me with tears in eyes and ache in heart, Happiness clinic left me thinking and last but not the least Best Friends made a permanent place in my heart.

Loved the way Sumana has woven the plots, which leave the reader so engrossed, that I actually imagined myself there, characters playing in front of my eyes. Out of five stories, First Love, Happiness clinic and Best friends touched me a lot.

I read the book twice and both the times it left me short of words, gasping for breath till I reached the end of a story.

Encounters-Someone’s Always Waiting, is a mixture of fantasy fiction, paranormal fiction, personal loss of a close one, natural calamity, finding one’s identity and reason of existence.

Each story is of different genre and it leaves an everlasting mark on readers mind.

My Verdict on Encounters – Someone’s Always Waiting … If you want to enjoy a good engrossing read, Encounters is one you must definitely go for.
