K for Kiss

She walks with measured steps towards him,
She is scared and excited, at the same time,
He is the man of her dreams,
Tall, dark and handsome.
Most importantly,
He has a great sense of humor.

He stood there, transfixed.
Watching her take hesitant steps towards him.

He envelopes her in his tight embrace.
For a second, she gets nervous,
But the next instant, she feels secure.
She too hugs him,
Never to let him go.

He gazes into her deep brown eyes,
Then, her perfectly shaped,
Yet quivering lips.
He can feel her body trembling with anticipation.
He holds her even more close to his heart.
So that she can hear his heart beating loud,
Against his chest.

He gingerly lifts her face towards him…

And

And…

Seals his love with a passionate kiss.

Their first kiss.

G for Granddaughter

He eagerly waited for her arrival,
Nervously pacing up and down the corridor,
He had waited for this moment for long.

And then she arrived...

He held her close,
for the first time.

He was mesmerized by her...
With her Shiny Doe-shaped eyes
She was staring at him.

And,

He Fell in love...

With the little bundle of joy,
His first grandchild,
His Granddaughter...

She was his love...Love at first sight.

Wings - My 1st Poem

Yesterday I was sitting by my window with my fractured leg in plaster. I was watching all the birds around flying. While watching them I felt “what if I had wings?”

Honestly, I never had liking for poems. Even in school, I struggled while memorizing poems during exams, always jumbled up rhymes. But yesterday, while watching those birds, suddenly some words came in my mind which I penned it down.

            So here it is…

Wish I had wings
Strong and sturdy wings,
To soar high,
Higher in blue sky,
Amongst white fluffy clouds,
Feel the winds on my face,
Under my wings.

Wish I had wings
To fly,
Fly towards freedom,
Fly away from barriers.

Wish I had wings.
