What is Love?

Love is a feeling, great affection, liking etc.

Love is everywhere. Love need not be between a man and a woman. It can be love for parents, love for their child, motherly love, father’s love, brotherly possessiveness, sisterly concern. Love for friends, love for nature, love for birds and animals, love for money and fame etc … love comes in various forms.

One can't live without love…

I had read somewhere "Many of the things we desire are expensive. But the truth is, the things that really satisfies us are totally free – love, laughter and working on our passions." Love is a need, everyone needs it, and no one can do without it. Without love, life is lifeless.

Sometimes love is a root cause of destruction, love for kingdom has killed many lives, love for property have turned brothers into enemies, unrequited love have made people kill , rape , throw acid on the very people they claim to 'love'.

Love is when the other person's happiness is more important than your own.

People claim they love… but then how can a father rape his own daughters, how can a brother rape his own sister? How can a person who claims to be madly in love with a girl rape her, try to kill her or disfigure her by throwing acid on her. Daily we read news of new-borns being abandoned, how can a woman do it?? How can a woman nurture a baby in her womb for 9 months and the leave to die??

These don’t mean love…love is taking care; love is when the person you love is happy… And not by causing them harm or hurt.

Trying to keep ourselves happy and people we love happy… is Love.
