P for A Picture is worth a thousand words

Why do they say so???

"A graphic illustration conveys a stronger message than words, as in The book jacket is a big selling point—one picture is worth a thousand words. This saying was invented by an advertising executive" - Fred R. Barnard.

Because sometimes a picture conveys what sometimes words don’t.

A picture is a memory which we like to visit.

A picture is a reminder of good times (no, I am not referring to the King of good times).

A picture is a reminder of people we had in our life.

A picture is a gateway to memories, sometimes a way of conveying a message in one image rather than writing ‘N' number of words.

Having said all of above, have you noticed, if ever you are bone tired, just a look at a picturesque image of a place, and you are instantly relaxed. The colors, really help us soothe our tired brain and makes us feel better which sometimes no matter how many words are either spoken to you or read by you.

Sometimes when we are low, doesn’t looking at old pictures, pictures of time spent with family and friends pep us up?

Well, it works for me sometimes.

So, a picture is definitely worth a thousand words.

What do you think about it?

  4. Beautiful picture, I am a big fan of all things colourful! Is this Corsica?
I'd like to add to the saying though 'A picture is worth a thousand words, an experience worth a million pictures!'
