Today’s Alphabet is “B”… so what’s better than writing
about how I started blogging and how it helped me.
“A blog is your best bet for a voice among the online
crowd. It's a personal website, packed with features, as easy to use as your
e-mail”.
3 years back, before I started blogging or I knew what blogging was, I was trying to find means to express my feelings to like-minded people, rant my frustrations, find people who’ll understand and help me without being judgemental.
Around that time, Janaki, who is a very good friend of my
family and who always guides me during my troubled times, had started blogging
and I used to read her blogs.
I felt that this might be the way, which might help me
discuss problems faced by parents in bringing up a special child. Yes, this was
title given by me when I started, till I changed it few months ago.
Like all others, I too stumbled, fell down, got hurt. I
felt bit low, as I didn’t get that much hits or comments or likes as other’s
blogs did. But then, Janaki would always tell me not to lose heart, keep
writing, keep reading other’s blogs, and keep improving. Initially everyone
hits road block, but then give it some time.
Due to my hectic and busy daily life, writing blogs
became occasional affair, but whenever I wrote I really took off load from my
heart and made me feel better.
Now, it’s been 3 years since I started my personal blog
and 1 year for my food blog, I must say, I am happy to be a blogger. It helped
me evolve as a person. It helped me revive my writing skills, got to meet so
many new and interesting people from various parts of country and world and
also from various paths of life.
Blogging helped me find a new Me.
I remember when my friend got me into blogging. I was in a phase where nothing seemed to go to plan. He told me my best bet was to write poems like I once did. :) quite possibly saved my life.
ReplyDeleteGood to have friends like Janaki to give some valuable advice. and to just help push through these bad phases.
Yes Leo, she really saved me too like ur friend did... :)
DeleteNice reading this, Aparna. I too was blogging very sporadically initially (compared to now) and it was a couple of encouraging comments from a reader that spurred me on with revived enthusiasm.
ReplyDelete:) Vibha... i think everyone goes or went thru that phase...
DeleteNice share Aparna :)
ReplyDeleteThanx Devashree :)
DeleteWhat can be a better word for B than Blog itself! It's a part of what we are...It was good to read about your blog's journey!

ReplyDeleteThank u and wishing u also al d best :)
DeleteStopping by from the A to Z Challenge sign up page. I also got into blogging as a way to express myself. Whether I'm saying something heartfelt, rambling, or ranting and raving about the idiot who cut me off in the parking lot, it's kind of cool and comforting to know that there's a community of bloggers out there who share my sentiments, or who just care enough to stop by and say hello. Happy blogging!
ReplyDeleteThank u :) I think many of us started blogging to express ourselves ... :)
DeleteWhat a great post! I'm stopping by from the A to Z Challenge. I started blogging in 2011 and love it! It's a great way for me to express my interests in writing and history. I love participating in blog tours and meeting people throughout the world. It's so much fun. It was hard to start blogging at first because I didn't know how to do it. A friend of mine told me I should blog on a set schedule with topics that pertain to my books. I started that with my first book, Calico. Three novels later, my writing has evolved and I now post almost every day on a wide range of topics.
ReplyDeleteWow... g8 going...al d best for challenge and also for many more novels ahead :)
DeleteYes, fellow bloggers assist us to grow further in the blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteSo true Vasudha :)
Deletewe all have reasons to start blogging, to me it was to come out of office stress and forget few things
ReplyDeleteam glad u found a friend in ur blog :)
keep blogging
Yes Afshan every one has and had same reasons to express and relieve stress :)
DeleteThank u :)
Oh yes! I get what you mean. I was very sceptical about blogging initially as well. But like you say, blogging has helped me grow as a person, assimilate and accept different points of view. Happy blogging and good luck with rest of the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThank u Aarthi and wishing u also al d very best :)
DeleteWow! Didn't know that you and Janaki were family friends!
ReplyDeleteToday I posted B IS FOR BELIEF. It seems belief and blogging go hand in had. Glad to be one of your new followers. Cheers, Rhondi - YA GOTTA LAUGH ABOUT IT.
ReplyDelete:) Rhondi thank u
DeleteRhondi's right, as usual! (Nice to see you here, Rhondi!) Blogging literally changed my life, in so many ways. Glad it helped you!
ReplyDeleteI love your concept.I do enjoy blogging although I am never quite sure if I am doing it right or not - It is a definite learning curve but a great way to express and share my knowledge with others. I am also taking part in the A-Z blog challenge - I am a blog newbie really, having started my blog last year. Can you please have a look at my blog and let me know what you think, please feel free to comment on my A-Z posts ( not quite sure if I have done this right or not) rosespantry.blogspot.co.nz Regards, Rose
ReplyDeleteGood for you! And great to hear. I am new to the blog world - at least the public blog world. And it has made such a difference in my ability to care for my aging mother, who has Alzheimer's. Good luck with A to Z - hope to read more of your posts.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is like a dream, it sends me to trance.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, blogging is a wonderful way to express ourselves and nurture our creative side. I think we all get discouraged sometimes when we feel we have something to say and no one is listening.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up on this post :) Try checking out my blog, I write about kinds of stuff. Music, movies and more! Also, I'm releasing my fist ever video entry for my travel page soon. I also write poems there. I'd love to hear your feedback x www.vinyl-alcohol..blogspot.com
